Sharon Stone's roles in 'Basic Instinct', 'Casino' and 'Total Recall' launched the actress' successful career

Sharon Stone's acting career has been full of impressive highlights. Much of her most popular work was in 1990s movies like "Total Recall," "Casino" and "Basic Instinct."

Sharon Stone is an Oscar nominated actress known widely for the popular movies she was a part of in the 1990s. 

Stone was born March 10, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Before getting into acting, Stone was a model for Ford, according to IMDb. 

In her first film, Stone had a non-speaking role in the picture "Stardust Memories" in 1980. Through the decade, she continued to get parts in movies like "Deadly Blessing," "Irreconcilable Differences," "King Solomon's Mines" and "Cold Steel."

All these performances led up to her breakout role in "Total Recall" with Arnold Schwarzenegger. 

Another one of Stone's well-known roles came with "Basic Instinct" in 1992. This movie includes Stone's classic interrogation scene. The actress won a Golden Globe for this movie. 

Stone was in the 1995 film "Casino," which garnered her another Golden Globe win and an Oscar nod. 

After that, Stone's star continued to act in movies like "The Specialist," "Last Dance," "The Mighty," "The Muse," "Lovelace," "The Disaster Artist" and "The Laundromat."
