Aerodine Composites is a leading performance designer and premier manufacturing facility that works with advanced composites. They cover a variety of market segments, including motorsports, medical, industrial, aerospace, and military markets.
Throughout the years, Aerodine employees have prided themselves on providing state-of-the-art composite designs and products specifically in the motorsports industry. They've actively been involved with details that have touched every winner of the Indianapolis 500 for more than 30 years running.
Aerodine sets the standard for motorsports composites, backed by their long-running history and involvement in the Indianapolis 500.
In the last quarter of 2022, Aerodine will be hosting a contest through the company's LinkedIn page. The contest will narrow down college and university Formula SAE teams to ultimately select a winner for sponsorship. The winning facility will win expanded sponsorship that includes an aero package with a front wing built onto the vehicle.
Check out last year's winner, announced in January 2021. Cal Poly Pomona's Formula SAE, Bronco Motorsports, was awarded the Aerodine FSAE Sponsorship from 2021. This aero package was showcased at the Brooklyn, Michigan Formula SAE competition, hosted in May and June of 2022.
Formula SAE competitors come together from across the world, vying for the attention of sponsors such as these. These engineering schools work to design, build, and test a prototype for a race car. They do have to follow specific standards in the process, which are set by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The sponsorship will apply to the 2023 Formula SAE competition and contest is open to any of the FORMULA SAE Classes, including:
Title Event dates Location
Formula SAE Michigan - IC May 17-20, 2023 Brooklyn, MI
Formula SAE Michigan - EVA June 14-17, 2023 Brooklyn, MI
The SAE is globally renowned and includes more than 128,000 engineers from all over the world. They maintain a focus on educating mobility professionals while also providing them a place to connect and network. SAE stands on the provision of safe, clean, accessible solutions that lead to extended learning that can last a lifetime. SAE is also known for their charitable foundation and integral contribution to programs such as the Collegiate Design Series. Please note that while this contest is part of an SAE production, they are not directly associated with Aerodine Composites, or with this competition.
Max Thouin, Aerodine's Vice President of Sales and Business Development, shared:
"Last year's contest was a great success with several teams battling for the prize until the last minute. We really enjoyed working with the students on this project and delivering them a professional grade front wing. We want to repeat the experience this year and see if we can help another team achieve the ultimate performance at the competition in Michigan."
