25-Mile Long Run To Celebrate, Raise Funds, and Raise Awareness For ODM's 25 Years of Successful Operation
Open Door Ministries (ODM) Announces That its Founding Executive Director, David Warren, Will Be Participating in a 25-Mile Long Run To Celebrate, Raise Funds, and Raise Awareness For ODM's 25 Years of Successful Operation.
DENVER - Oct. 4, 2022 - PRLog -- Open Door Ministries Denver, a highly respected Denver outreach ministry announces that its founding Executive Director, David Warren, will be doing a 25-mile long run to celebrate, raise funds, and raise awareness for ODM's 25 years of ongoing successful operation. Open Door Ministries (ODM) exists to give genuine practical help and hope to people of all backgrounds from across all urban Denver. The focus is on those who are homeless or live in a low-income situation. The main goal and primary objective of the organization is to move people forward into more healthy and meaningful self-sufficiency. Since 1997, Open Door has served thousands of people in the urban Denver community. Their Family Room program, an outreach effort for the homeless, has had 106,017 drop-in visits since it opened in 2016. Their Food Bank, which began during COVID, has provided 71,139 meals to families in need in the Mar Lee neighborhood. Over the past 25 years, 1,037 individuals have come through their in-depth housing programs, and 578 children have attended their Learning Center program, which provides quality Early Childhood Education and support for low-income and single-parent families.
Company officials are quoted as saying, "We offer hope every day by helping those in need change the circumstances and life patterns that have held them captive to poverty and addictions." "Through four focus areas, we provide tangible essentials such as food, shelter, access to education and employment training. In addition, we routinely open the door to easily accessible intangible needs such as friendship, hope, and Christian spiritual guidance," they went on to say.
Since the issues facing so many of the ministry's friends tend to have multiple layers, Open Door has learned that the best way to help them succeed is to surround them with sincere support, holistically empowering them to overcome obstacles, attain self-sufficiency, and thrive. The four core focuses continue to be the areas of housing, kids and youth, outreach, and leadership development. These four areas of focus deliver on the promises of providing support for individuals so that they may secure safe and stable housing, rewarding and lasting employment, and completed education, while growing in vibrant spirituality, renewed relationships, healthy positive behavior, and the development of important leadership skills. Last year, one of ODM's housing program graduates had this to say about her time at Open Door: "I have never been able to have a clear headspace free of addiction, and now I have one where I can live more. I have learned a lot about myself, things I wouldn't have been able to learn on my own. The women here are beautiful examples of Christ - my relationship with God has flourished and I feel like a fire has been ignited in my soul and I want to live life!"
ODM started in 1997 and is proud to celebrate 2022 as its 25th successful year. The ministry has, today, grown to become an established outreach organization with 20 programs, 45 staff, 12 properties, and a $3,500,000 annual budget. The ministry primarily operates in key areas near to the Capitol Hill neighborhood close to downtown. Equally exciting is the fact that they have also expanded to urban southwest Denver in the Mar Lee neighborhood. Continued expansion simply means that more people can be helped over the short and long term.
The founding Executive Director, David Warren, with great foresight, started the ministry in 1997. He had the genuine inspiration to do a 25-mile long run to celebrate, raise funds, and raise awareness for ODM's 25 years of proud operation. While he is an avid runner, he has never run a marathon or anything over a half marathon, making this endeavor even more impressive.
He has been training for this run since the beginning of the summer. David's goal is to use the event to raise funds for this year's annual end-of-year campaign. Many people give near the end of the year, that said, ODM's budget is heavily dependent on donations during the November and December timeframe. "By the end of this year, we hope and have faith that we can raise close to $1,000,000 to finish the year in a positive light," ministry officials went on to say. David's 25-mile run challenge will kick off this exciting year end campaign. The ministry is looking for individual as well as corporate sponsorships of $1000, $2500, $5000, $10,000, or even $25,000 pledges to ODM. This will truly do wonders by encouraging David, as he takes on the challenge of this physically demanding run.
Best of all, the funds raised will benefit the hundreds of participants served by ODM in urban Denver—the homeless, at-risk children and youth, disabled individuals, addicts in recovery, low-income families, and many more. This is a huge win-win for all involved! The run will happen on Saturday, November 12th starting at 10am at 902 Ash St. in Broomfield, CO. This is the Magdalena House, one of ODM's homes they use for graduates from their downtown transitional houses.
David will begin at this location and run toward downtown, with the goal of running to each of the twelve homes and properties of Open Door Ministries. Some of them include 2754 Stout St., 1567 Marion St., 740 Clarkson St., and finally he will end with a small celebration at 3440 W. Louisiana Ave. in southwest Denver around 3pm that afternoon. This unique and well-planned route is very close to 25 miles, an ambitious distance for just about any runner. "We are also excited to announce that sponsors will have the opportunity to have their logo or brand on the back of the special t-shirts being designed for this unique running event," they said. David is also inviting others to join in and run all or part of the distance with him. This is intended to help raise awareness about the ODM mission.
They can choose a 3-to-5-mile segment (or longer) to join along with David. Open Door Ministries will be announcing all this on social media as well as by traditional media outlets on the day of as well as the days leading up to the big event. Supporters can do their part too, by contributing with a vital and important role. All are encouraged to keep an eye out for the event on social media, and to share digitally the news of this key event far and wide. "We thank you in advance," the ministry has said.
This latest announcement regarding Open Door Ministries' highly respected founding Executive Director, David Warren, doing a 25-mile long run to celebrate, raise funds, and raise awareness for ODM's 25 years of successful operation is just one more prime indicator that helping others in a fun and interesting way is always worth the time and effort.
We hope that many people from Denver and the surrounding communities will join Odmdenver.org in this fun, engaging and inspirational endeavor. Helping people has never been so much fun!
