Natick, Massachusetts Jun 7, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Friends of the 4th, the non-profit volunteer organization is known for organizing the 4th of July festivities in Natick, MA, today announced that the 2021 celebration will include a house decorating contest and scavenger hunt that will take participants through Natick's historic and notable landmarks. Winners will receive prizes from local businesses, and Natick's longtime Director of Public Health, James M. "Jim" White Jr., RS/REHS, will serve as the Grand Marshall.

"While consequences from COVID-19 made it not possible to hold our traditional parade this year, we are excited to provide these two very fun and relevant programs to all those in Natick and beyond that want to celebrate the 4th of July," said Peg Waters, President of Friends of the 4th. "The scavenger hunt will take participants through Natick history and culture, and the house decorating contest will allow all participants to show what the 4th of July means to them."

"In this time when we find it more important than ever for the community to come together, I am proud of the Friends of the 4th for 'thinking outside of the box and coming up with this program to help our community come together and celebrate what unites us," said Jim White. "I personally will be participating and encourage all to do the same."

The house decorating contest will take place July 1 - 5. The four top displays, as selected by spectators, will be awarded gift certificates to Natick restaurants.
