Northbrook, Illinois May 17, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Hak4Kidz announced today that Jeff Man, Sr. Information Security Consultant for Online Business Systems and Host of Security & Compliance Weekly, has joined the organization's board of directors as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Man is joining the nonprofit to help expand its vision of getting young people excited about careers in the field of cybersecurity. "We are thrilled to have Jeff join the Board. Jeff's personal and professional goals are synergistic with our ethos," said Dave Schwartzberg, President, and Founder of Hak4Kidz. "His thought leadership will further expand our goals for Hak4Kidz by leveraging his experience, relationships, and information security community involvement. Jeff brings a great deal of industry experience and passion to help enable the future generations of cybersecurity professionals."

By day, Man's role at Online Business Systems is to provide consulting and trusted advisory services to its clients, mostly in the realm of regulatory and private-industry security/compliance programs. Man also shares his nearly 40 years of experience in information (cyber) security by hosting a weekly podcast entitled, "Security & Compliance Weekly" and co-hosting "Paul's Security Weekly". Man began his career at the National Security Agency where he was first certified as a Cryptanalyst, and later went on to help found and be part of NSA's first vulnerability & threat assessment (or Red Team).

"I've had the honor of speaking at several Hak4Kidz conferences over the past couple of years and have enjoyed teaching young people about secret codes and encryption at the Cryptography Activity table," said Man. "I am looking forward to increased involvement in the planning and execution of Hak4Kidz activities, particularly on expanding its reach to young people from all backgrounds to assure that everyone has the opportunity to discover new skills and interests both in technology and cybersecurity."

Hak4kidz is exploring ways to expand its influence beyond conferences to finding ways to reach young people working within traditional educational constructs both online and in-person.

About Hak4Kidz

Hak4Kidz, a 501(c)(3) charity, is designed to help kids learn about cyber safety, security, and ethics from leaders in the field by appealing to their natural curiosity and desired to play. Hak4Kidz accomplishes this goal by delivering conferences for kids usually in conjunction with an established security conference. Conference activities include STEM, technology reverse engineering, Snap Circuits, network security, and Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competitions. There are generally workshops that include hands-on training from experts in the field. Kids are encouraged to explore the things that interest them the most; they can spend as much or as little time as they want at each activity station.
