SONIC Drive-In Celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Week by Pledging $200,000 in Funding to Public School Requests Through Limeades for Learning

SONIC® Drive-In is recognizing public school teachers during Random Acts of Kindness Week by donating up to $200,000 to hand-selected learning requests as part of Limeades for Learning, the brand’s ongoing philanthropic initiative. From Feb. 16 through 19, 2021, SONIC is helping public school teachers across the country by donating to requests at random in various categories including: food, clothing, hygiene; books and basics; and distance learning technology needs through its partner DonorsChoose.

Donations to public school teacher requests take place every day of Random Acts of Kindness Week:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 16: Random SONIC fans receive a surprise opportunity to support teachers in their communities; Select counties across the country receive donations
  • Wednesday, Feb. 17: A dollar-for-dollar donation match launches for select distance learning technology requests aimed at narrowing the digital divide*
  • Thursday, Feb. 18: Teachers are randomly selected and given two $25 DonorsChoose gift codes – one to keep and one to kindly gift to a colleague
  • Friday, Feb. 19: Hand-selected books and basics teacher requests receive a donation
