The SONIC® Drive-In team from 9102 Highway 20 in Summertown, Tenn. took home the championship title and were awarded gold medals in SONIC’s annual premier competition training program, the DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES. The Summertown team competed against 11 other talented drive-in teams from across the country at the national finals, held during the 2019 SONIC National Convention in Austin, Texas. The winners were recognized on stage and celebrated by thousands of SONIC franchisees and executives.

As part of the DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES competition, drive-in team members were tested in the following specific areas:

• Switchboard: Order Taking
• Fountain: Drink Preparation
• Ice Cream: Frozen Treat Preparation
• Dresser, Grill and Swamp: Food Preparation
• Carhop: Guest Service & Delivery
• Monthly Promotions

SONIC also awarded silver and bronze medals to the drive-in teams from 7519 Mountain Grove Drive in Knoxville and 1865 N. Zaragosa Road in El Paso, respectively. In addition, SONIC recognized each of the top three team members in their respective roles with individual gold, silver and bronze medals for their outstanding performance in the competition.
