Alpharetta, Georgia-based Colonial Pipeline has confirmed one person died in a pipeline explosion in Shelby County, Alabama. The company said that the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. EDT when a trackhoe used by a contract crew working on Colonial’s gasoline pipeline in Shelby Count hit the line.
