Banner Bank Announces New Commercial Banking Leadership

Banner Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Banner Corporation (NASDAQ: BANR), has promoted two of its veteran commercial bankers to run the commercial division.

Jim Reed and Kirk Quillin have both been promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Executive, West and East Regions respectively. Reed and Quillin will both join Banner’s executive management committee and will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Grescovich.

“Jim and Kirk are uniquely qualified to lead the commercial business and drive Banner Bank to become the bank of choice in the Pacific Northwest,” Grescovich said. “As Banner continues to grow its commercial lending and banking capabilities, the need to regionalize our division has become apparent. Both Jim and Kirk have been with Banner Bank for over 10 years; and between the two they have over half a century experience in financial services, leading teams of employees and developing custom solutions that exceed client expectations. I am confident in their ability to build upon the recent successes Banner has realized in commercial banking.”

Based in Banner Bank’s Seattle area office, Reed will lead the West Region commercial and specialty banking for Banner, which includes Western Washington and Western Oregon. He began his banking career in 1985 with Rainier Bank later becoming West One, and then joined Banner Bank in 1998. Reed earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences from the University of Washington, and earned certificates from Pacific Coast Banking School, Northwest Intermediate Banking School and Northwest Intermediate Commercial Lending School. Currently, Reed sits on the University of Washington Bothell Advisory Board and the University of Washington Foundation Board.

Leading Banner’s East Region commercial and specialty banking for all locations in Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon and Idaho, Quillin will be based in Spokane, Wash. He began his career in the banking industry in 1984 with Idaho First National Bank, which is now U.S. Bank. After time at Washington Mutual, Quillin joined Banner Bank’s commercial banking group in 2002. He earned a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Boise State University and was certified by the Pacific Coast Banking School and Northwest Intermediate Commercial Lending School. As a dedicated, civic-minded community member, Quillin has been active in Rotary for over 20 years, and for eight years served as a Fire Commissioner.
