Schaeffer’s Daily Option Blog: Bearish Sentiment Shows Signs of Shifting Toward Morgan Stanley (MS)

Morgan Stanley (MS) was the home of some heavy options trading on Wednesday, as more than 136,900 contracts changed hands. This volume was roughly 2.5 times the equity's average daily trading volume of 54,500 contracts, according to data from WhatsTrading.com. In addition, 55% of the volume changed hands on the call side.

Yesterday's preference for calls is similar to the action that has been seen on the International Securities Exchange (ISE). During the past 10 trading sessions, 2.3 calls have been purchased to open for every one put purchased to open. This ratio of calls to puts is higher than 93% of all those taken during the past 12 months.
