This kid's illustrated garden story, "Let's Plant a Garden", was created in response to the many children's books that no longer have a standard of beauty and virtuous storytelling. It is designed to implant seeds of positive behavior in children as they practice their elementary reading skills.

This basic reading book, "Let's Plant a Garden", takes children on a journey from seed to planting to harvest. With simple, easy-to-read sentences and beautiful garden pictures, it is the perfect "seed to harvest" children's book for a toddler learning to read.

It might be considered a first gardening book or farm book for kids as it has some farm words, vegetable words, and outside words for kids. The story takes place outdoors.

When asked about the inspiration for the book, artist Abigail Barich said this.

"The idea for this book came from working on a family garden my brother started, and let me tell you—it was amazing to see how much the kids loved it! They were outside, digging in the dirt, asking a million questions about what they could plant and what foods they wanted to grow. Their imaginations just took off! One minute they were planning to grow tomatoes, and the next they were dreaming up a garden full of all their favorite foods (and maybe a few snacks we wish we could grow!). It was such a fun way for them to learn where their food comes from and pick up skills they’ll use for life.

It made me realize that some things, like gardening, are timeless. These hands-on experiences are so important for kids today, and they are lessons we don’t want to lose from generation to generation. Plus, knowing the effort that goes into growing something really makes them appreciate it so much more. Honestly, it’s been such a great way to connect them with nature—and now I just want to share that joy with other families!"

The book's beautiful cover art and artwork of this early reader garden story was created by Abigail Barich. The book is being released through Lulu and is also available at Amazon.

Abigail Barich is also responsible for the artwork in "Let's Clean Up", another children's book. She created the cover artwork for "Seeing Through a Glass Darkly" and "The Tithe", both by author Cheryl Jones.

"Let's Plant a Garden" is the perfect quality reading book for a child learning to read or one who enjoys gardening and who will appreciate the pictures.
