US Tiny Villages Project For Homeless Persons: Nationwide Fundraising Announced

As rising numbers of homeless families and individuals put pressure on existing resources, a new non-profit known as Tiny Villages launches across the US, offering an innovative and cost-effective approach.

Tiny Villages is a new nationwide non-profit focused on creating sustainable communities of tiny homes that offer safe and permanent housing for those in need. The project is planning 50 villages, one in each state, with the goal of housing 500,000 vulnerable individuals.

According to recent reporting from the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the US has seen increasing numbers of overall homelessness, unsheltered homelessness, and chronic homelessness every year since 2016. The organization points out that record numbers are experiencing homelessness for the first time, reflecting wider problems, such as housing affordability.

As the growing issue stretches existing resources to their limit, Tiny Villages was established with the goal of creating a cost-effective and sustainable solution. The project takes the popular concept of tiny homes to create communities that are broken into five distinct areas: families, youth, chronically unhoused, adults, and those who may pose a risk to other residents.

“Tiny Villages Inc. will be able to house 500,0000 vulnerable individuals throughout the United States - and that's just the beginning,” a company representative explained. “In brief, the first project Tiny Villages Inc. is working on is 50 Villages (one in each state) supporting about 10,000 people by providing access to food, water, shelter, and basic needs including but not limited to education and healthcare.”

In addition to housing, Tiny Villages has plans to incorporate agriculture, low-impact livestock, and agrivoltaics into each development, with specific plant types being based on the local climate and conditions. This concept is aimed at providing residents with healthy and sustainable sources of food, further reducing demand on public resources.

As part of the recent launch, Tiny Villages is now seeking support from individuals and organizations across the US. In addition to tax-deductible monetary donations, the company states that land parcels, construction materials, and single or double-axle trailers are all welcome.

“Your donations are crucial in helping us provide safe, affordable, and permanent housing solutions for those in need,” the company continued. “Every contribution will make a meaningful difference in creating stable and supportive communities that put an end to homelessness forever.”
