Revenue growth

Examining a company’s long-term performance can provide clues about its quality. Even a poor business can perform well for one or two quarters, but a high-quality one grows for years. Over the last five years, Encore Capital Group grew its revenue at a sluggish 3.9% compounded annual growth rate, falling short of the financials sector benchmark.

Long-term growth matters most, but within financials, a half-decade historical view may miss recent interest rate changes, market returns and industry trends.
