'Danger in the Hills' by Liz Fahey Wins National Indie Excellence® Award

In a competitive field of entries across the nation, Danger in the Hills stood out to the NIEA judging panel for its captivating narrative, vivid characters, and heartfelt origins. Co-created with her late father, known to readers as "Uncle Jerry," Fahey's story blends environmental fantasy with timeless themes of courage, friendship, and survival.
"Winning this award is deeply meaningful," said Fahey. "Danger in the Hills began as bedtime stories from my dad, and finishing them together—even after his passing—has been a way to keep his spirit alive. I'm thrilled to see our NOLO world connecting with readers."
Danger in the Hills introduces readers to Jake, a solitary Mountain NOLO, and a group of lost children navigating the wilderness. With humor, heart, and tension, the book launches a series that will have a second title on August 13th, Flood in the Desert.
