"This program embodies everything we've worked to achieve at NTSO," says Dr. Brownlee. "We will honor our classical foundations while embracing new voices and proving that orchestral music is alive and evolving in Dallas."
The search for new leadership has attracted more than 50 qualified applicants from across the nation. "The caliber of candidates speaks volumes about what Dr. Brownlee has created here in Dallas and the NTSO's reputation in the classical world," notes Steven Couch, NTSO Search Committee Chair. "We look forward to the challenge of selecting the NTSO's next conductor and artistic director - not someone to replace Cathy, who will remain on our board to help guide us into the future, but will continue with our mission of making classical musical accessible to everyone."
Founded in 2004, the New Texas Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer-based music organization of over 80 musicians that provides professional-level orchestral performances free to the Dallas community through its innovative "Free for ALL" concert series. For more information, visit NTSO.org.
