Tennessee Standard Plumbing has announced a September initiative that gives homeowners in its service area a way to identify the source of unexpectedly high water bills before colder weather arrives. The plumbing company, which serves the Greater Knoxville area, has introduced the program as part of its seasonal outreach on residential water use.

The initiative centers on the Free Plumbing Evaluation September promo, which provides area residents who report elevated water usage with a professional review of their plumbing systems. According to the company, hidden leaks, running toilets, and aging supply lines often cause elevated household water bills. The evaluation helps homeowners locate the source of the issue. Eligibility is limited to residential customers within the company's Greater Knoxville service area, which includes Knoxville, Maryville, and Oak Ridge, and the evaluation offer is available through the end of September.

The company has also noted the continuation of its $93 Or It's Free Professional Drain Cabling offer, which addresses common drain blockages. As with the evaluation, the drain cabling offer applies to residential customers within the stated service area. Homeowners are advised to confirm eligibility and any applicable conditions before scheduling service.

Kelton, owner of Tennessee Standard Plumbing, said the September timing reflects patterns the company tracks internally. "Based on the service calls we handle, water usage questions increase as households move into cooler months," Kelton said. "Many homeowners assume a higher bill is simply seasonal, but in a number of the cases we see, the cause is a leak or a failing fixture. The evaluation is meant to give homeowners a factual picture of the condition of their system rather than a guess."

Tennessee Standard Plumbing operates on a service model that provides customers with information before work begins. Licensed plumbers assess each situation, explain the findings, and present multiple pricing options so homeowners can decide how to proceed. The company also makes financing plans for plumbing projects or repairs as low as $1,000. As part of the September program, the company is including a toilet with a completed whole-home drain repipe and a bathroom or kitchen faucet with a completed whole-home water repipe. These inclusions apply to qualifying residential projects completed during the promotional period.

"The purpose is to reduce the uncertainty homeowners often feel when a plumbing problem appears," Kelton added. "When someone understands the condition of the system and the available options, the decision-making process becomes clearer. A repipe is a significant project, and outlining the scope in advance is part of how the company approaches that work."

The company reports that drain and water line inquiries constitute a portion of the residential service calls it handles during the autumn months, based on its call records, as temperatures shift and household water use changes. Addressing these concerns early, according to the company, can help homeowners avoid more extensive repairs later in the season.
