Meet the 30-year-old whose rehab in Thailand has served over 750 high-net-worth individuals globally.

Ohm, Athisin Poolswaddi, 30, is the founder and CEO of the only internationally accredited rehab in Thailand. The Dawn, a boutique alcohol and drug rehab Thailand, has served over 750 individuals since opening its doors in 2017 by providing them high-quality addiction and mental health treatment programs administered by experienced, licensed Western therapists 1/3 of the price of similar standard treatment centres in US and UK.

Armed with a Master’s in Business Administration from the prestigious Columbia University, Ohm Poolsawaddi started this career in banking and spent five years at Citigroup, where he advised multinational corporations, such as Apple and ExxonMobil, and institutional clients to manage their risk exposures.

Understanding high levels of work-related stress typical for people in the financial sector, and seeing the unhealthy behaviours that many resorted to, in order to cope, Ohm realised that these coping behaviours that his colleagues resorted to, rather than accessing treatment, was partly due to the fact that they did not want their problems to become public knowledge because of the impact it might have on their careers. He saw this as an opportunity to offer an international rehab abroad by opening a centre in his home-country of Thailand - where people from other countries could fly in for treatment that was confidential.

“Although, the COVID-19 health and economic crisis dealt a major blow to the global travel industry, resulting in an 84% decline in international tourist arrivals, it had a reverse impact on The Dawn. Although foreigners were unable to fly in for residential treatment for about 2 years, there was a huge spike in demand for online treatment due to the toll ‘lockdowns’ people are having on people’s stress levels and mental health - so The Dawn created online services to meet the demand. Covid has also created a greater awareness of mental health and addiction problems among society - and now that the world is open to travel once again, The Dawn team is seeing a 40% increase in enquiries for The Dawn’s residential services.

At The Dawn Wellness Centre and Rehab, an international drug and alcohol rehab in Thailand, The Dawn’s compassionate team of specialists have spent years guiding people through successful, lasting recoveries. The Dawn team understands that addiction affects a person in many different ways, and so our holistic, residential treatment approach combines the most effective psychotherapeutic techniques with a variety of proven wellness practices to heal the mind and the body.
