Former and active U.S. service members who believe they have a valid claim in the 3M earplug case are now provided with a range of advisory services by Marlton, New Jersey-based law firm Console and Associates (866-778-5500).

Marlton, New-Jersey-based personal injury attorneys Console and Associates P.C. has launched a range of complimentary consultative services for U.S. veterans and service members who may have damaged hearing or tinnitus as a result of faulty 3M earplugs.

The recent announcement comes as a Florida jury awarded $1.7 million in compensation to veteran Lloyd Baker on June 18, 2021, the second of the bellwether trials to find fault on the part of 3M.

Reported by Reuters as the largest multi-district litigation case in United States history, some 240,000 current and former service members have filed lawsuits against 3M. The cases involve earplugs issued by the US military between 2003 and 2015.

In response to the ongoing matter, Console and Associates can now assist veterans and active service members who believe they have a valid claim. Having partnered with a number of specialist 3M attorneys throughout the country, the firm will provide a range of consultative support services including an initial assessment of claims and connecting service members with legal representation.

The current claims allege that 3M was aware of the faulty design and continued selling the earplugs to the US military, and that soldiers who used the earplugs believed they were adequately protected against dangerous levels of noise when they were not. The recent case, cited above, found 3M to be 62 percent responsible for the resultant hearing loss and tinnitus that veteran Lloyd Baker suffered.

Despite some confusing messages through various channels that suggest otherwise, Console and Associates’ recent announcement included assurances that the case is legitimate and active, and that their network of partner attorneys are still accepting new clients.

A company representative stated: “With so many scams and spam messages about this case out there, it’s no wonder veterans and active-duty service members who are coping with hearing loss have wondered whether 3M earplug litigation is real. We can assure you that, yes, the 3M earplug lawsuit is a real, legitimate legal matter in which cases are being tried in court. If you think you may have a case, please don’t wait to take action.”
