Paisley Park Launches School Preparation Program to Support School Transition
Paisley Park introduces a new learning initiative designed to support children’s growth, confidence, and readiness for the next stage of their journey.

Templestowe, VIC - July 14, 2025 - Paisley Park Early Learning Centers have introduced a comprehensive School Preparation Program across their locations, including Templestowe childcare, childcare Sandringham, childcare Malvern East, and childcare Chadstone. Developed by Kat Wieczorek-Ghisso (PhD in Education), with over 30 years of practical experience, the program was created in consultation with school principals to align with both the Early Years Learning Framework and the National School Curriculum.

This initiative supports a successful school transition and fosters a lifelong love of learning. The program prioritises confidence, social awareness, autonomy and resilience—traits that school teachers identify as critical indicators of readiness. Children participate in a daily routine that mirrors the classroom environment, introducing them to targeted learning topics in English, Mathematics, Science, the Arts, and Physical Education.

"Our School Preparation Program reflects what educators and schools value most. Children learn best when they feel seen and supported. Our program embraces this by offering school-like routines and real-world experiences while still using play as the primary learning vehicle," said Kat Wieczorek-Ghisso, Director of Education and Program Development.

Educators at Paisley Park are degree-qualified and bring a unique combination of professional training and passion. They design intentional learning environments and introduce classroom elements such as lunch box programs, group time, and learning technologies.

"Starting school is not just about knowing the alphabet. Children who feel confident, independent and socially connected walk into school ready to participate. Our approach gives them those tools well before their first day," said a spokesperson.

Children across their childcare centers experience visits to their local "big school," participate in library sessions, music or sports events, and build positive connections well before their formal school start.

Families are considered part of the transition process, with educators building genuine partnerships to support each child's journey.
