Xi’an Film Studio has announced the commercial readiness of its newly developed Boundaryless Cinema System, an XR-driven spatial computing platform designed to deliver large-scale immersive experiences within standardized indoor venues. The launch marks a significant advancement in the practical application of extended reality technologies for cultural, educational, and enterprise purposes, moving beyond traditional VR demonstrations and establishing a fully engineered, location-based solution.

The new platform is engineered to address long-standing limitations of conventional VR setups. It introduces a “one seat, one environment” model that generates an individualized immersive space through high-fidelity real-time rendering and synchronized motion feedback. This technical approach helps reduce viewing fatigue, eliminates spatial restrictions, and enables a controlled 360-degree exploration experience suitable for long-duration use.

The system includes a lightweight 180-gram XR headset supporting dual-eye 8K resolution, developed to improve comfort and visual clarity for extended sessions. A motion-synchronized “sitting-view” chair works in coordination with directional cues from the XR environment, maintaining physical stability while reducing disorientation. By supporting guided environmental transitions and controlled interactions, the platform preserves narrative logic and user orientation throughout the experience.

Industry observer Ben Baker commented that innovations of this type represent an important milestone in the evolution of spatial computing, real-time content delivery, and human–computer interaction. He noted that the system demonstrates how organizations can begin deploying XR technologies at scale in a standardized and commercially viable format.
