Transactional dealmaker known for business-minded counsel to NYSE- and Nasdaq-listed companies

Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. has added Josh Pleitz as a Shareholder in its Corporate & Securities and M&A practices. Pleitz brings more than 16 years of experience advising public and private companies, private equity funds and institutional investors on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, strategic investments and other corporate matters.

“Josh is the kind of deal lawyer clients want at the table when the stakes are high,” said Rob Kibby, Munsch Hardt’s Corporate & Securities Section Head. “He understands the best legal advice starts with understanding what the client is trying to accomplish. That combination of business judgment, negotiating skill and experience across M&A and the public markets makes him an outstanding addition to our team.”

His practice includes domestic and cross-border transactions involving complex deal structures. Pleitz also counsels public companies on SEC reporting, stock exchange compliance and corporate governance. His experience spans energy, technology, health care, financial services, food and beverage and consumer products industries, involving both U.S. and international businesses.

“What stood out to me about Munsch Hardt was the combination of sophisticated work and a practical approach to serving clients,” said Pleitz. “That’s how I’ve always approached my own practice: understand the business objective, identify what matters most and find a way to get the deal done.”

Pleitz has earned recognition from The Best Lawyers in America, which named him among its “Ones to Watch” in Mergers and Acquisitions Law. He has also been recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Pleitz earned his J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas at Austin and his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University.

Pleitz’s arrival marks the latest in a series of shareholder additions at Munsch Hardt this year, including Corporate & Securities and M&A Shareholders Matthew K. Good and Robert White in Dallas, Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Insolvency Shareholder Tara LeDay in Austin, and Litigation Shareholder Brent A.Turman in Dallas.
