Scuba Emerges from Stealth with $34M to Build the Shared Context Engine for Teams and Their Agents
Founded by former Slack leaders, Scuba is the shared memory teams have been missing, so they can stay aligned and move smarter together.
Scuba, the shared context engine for teams and their agents, today emerged from stealth with $34 million in funding over two rounds. Accel led the pre-seed, with IVP joining Accel to co-lead the seed. BoxGroup, Conviction, Homebrew, and Scribble Ventures also participated. Scuba’s angel investors include founders of Slack, Instagram, Stripe, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Datadog, Vanta, Harvey, Dropbox, Abridge, Duolingo, Granola, Warp, Zynga, Groupon, Coda, Opendoor, and Flatiron Health.
AI is helping people move so much faster on their own. But few teams feel they are actually moving smarter together. Speed doesn’t add up when the team runs in different directions. Effort gets wasted. Lessons get orphaned. Old alignment tools can’t keep up. The monthly all-hands are too slow. The wiki is too stale. The strategy docs are too long. AI gives teams instant answers. But their competitors get the same ones, averaged from the public internet. No team wants to be average. They have their own point of view.
Scuba is the shared memory every team has been missing. It lets teams capture and share what matters so they can move as one. The context. The thought. The lesson. The plan. Teams can save from their browser, any app, their agents, or directly: the articles, screenshots, docs, videos, threads, texts, voice notes, and write-ups. Scuba organizes it all automatically, tracking the team’s knowledge, decisions, and directions as they evolve. No manual editing required. It works behind the scenes as a proactive thought partner that connects the dots across the team. Teams connect Scuba to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Slack, so every answer, artifact, and line of code starts from everyone’s best thinking.
Founded by Noah Desai Weiss, former Chief Product Officer at Slack, and Dolapo Falola, former Head of Engineering at The Browser Company and an engineering leader at Slack and Meta. The two have built together since 2011, from Google to Foursquare to Slack. Scuba is the duo’s fourth tour together.
How Scuba works for teams:
- Never lose a great idea. Capture articles, screenshots, files, videos, and threads from your browser or apps. Get instant summaries and highlights.
- Scale your team’s best thinking. Turn individual expertise into a shared advantage. Collections keep everyone aligned on launches, key clients, company strategy, and competitive shifts, with Scuba automatically organizing every shared Capture.
- Stay aligned and ahead. Scuba connects the dots across your team’s thinking, surfacing emerging trends, important changes, and potential conflicts through daily Briefings or on-demand Sessions.
- Never start from scratch again. Get feedback, pressure-test ideas, and create proposals grounded in your team’s Captures. Always with citations, and fresh web sources when needed.
- Get more leverage from your agents. Connect Scuba to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more through MCP, or bring @Scuba into Slack. Every answer, document, and line of code starts with your team’s unique context.
- Capture and catch up on the go. Save ideas, links, screenshots, and voice notes with full transcripts wherever you are, with seamless syncing across devices.
“The frontier models aren't intelligence bound. They're context constrained,” said Noah Desai Weiss, co-founder and CEO of Scuba. “That’s why we're building Scuba. So people never lose a great idea again. For companies that want to move smarter together. For teams with a mind of their own. We aim to be the 1% of AI spend that makes the other 99% pay off.”
"Breakthrough products have the power to change how teams work together. Slack did it for team communication with channels. Cursor did it for writing code with AI. Now Scuba is doing it for team alignment with shared context," said Andrew Braccia, Partner at Accel. "Noah and Dolapo have spent nearly two decades building beloved products at large scale. As the pace of work keeps speeding up, the team at Scuba is building something that will help every team scale their own taste and expertise to go faster together."
"Without understanding a team's shared judgment, agents can never achieve their full potential. Noah and Dolapo spent their careers getting the right information to the right people at the right moment, which is why we knew they were the right founders to solve this problem," said Shravan Narayen, General Partner at IVP.
For the past six months, hundreds of early users have run on Scuba in private beta. They’ve used it to build products, run launches, track customer feedback, develop company strategy, and explore new markets. The prevailing sentiment from early adopters: “Scuba helps me feel like a smarter version of myself because what I learn compounds.”
The new funding will accelerate product expansion, hiring, and go-to-market. Scuba is opening the limited beta to teams in waves. Teams can apply for early access at scuba.app.
