Susan G. Komen® Mobilizes Communities Nationwide This Fall to Support Those Impacted by Breast Cancer
Popular Events Like the 3-Day, Race for the Cure, and MORE THAN PINK Walk Bring People Together to Support Patients and Fund Lifesaving Research and Public Policy efforts
Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, is bringing its signature fundraising events to 37 cities nationwide this fall—uniting communities through the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®, Race for the Cure®, and MORE THAN PINK Walk®. These inspiring events rally survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer, families, friends, and advocates, and call on walkers, runners, and endurance enthusiasts to take action by joining the movement in a city near them to show their support for those impacted by breast cancer.
Every step makes a difference — fueling lifesaving research, supporting patients in real time and bringing us closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised through the 2025 Susan G. Komen 3-Day, Race for the Cure, and MORE THAN PINK Walk® events directly support those currently facing the disease, advocating for policies needed by the breast cancer community while funding the breakthroughs needed to cure breast cancer.
“Early detection saves lives, but access to high-quality care shouldn’t depend on where you live or how much money you make,” said Paula Schneider, president & CEO of Susan G. Komen and 18-year survivor. “Some experts estimate that up to one-third of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. could be prevented with universal access to timely, modern treatment—underscoring the urgent need for equitable access to high-quality, affordable care and continued investment in research and patient support. That’s why we walk. That’s why we race. And that’s why we need everyone to step up and join us this fall—to truly save lives.”
In 2025, an estimated 320,000 women and men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and nearly 43,000 people are expected to die from the disease. Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers in the country, affecting approximately one in eight women in their lifetime. Every two minutes, someone is diagnosed—and every 12 minutes, a woman loses her life to the disease in the U.S.
“The need for help right now is greater than ever,” Schneider added. “It’s crucial we continue the momentum we’ve built so that everyone has access to the breast care they need now as well as a greater chance of survival.”
Komen has invested nearly $1.1 billion in breast cancer research, making it the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research—outside of the U.S. government. It has dedicated nearly $2.5 billion to advocacy and patient support services, including education, screening, financial assistance, and patient navigation—impacting millions of lives worldwide. Since launching its Patient Care Center in 2021, Komen has provided more than $31.9 million in financial assistance and delivered over 104,000 patient navigation services to individuals facing breast cancer in communities across U.S. — helping guide them through a complex and often overwhelming health care system.
Supporting those impacted by breast cancer is central to Komen’s mission and it’s only made possible because of the participants, supporters, partners and sponsors.
Bank of America is the national presenting sponsor and Lily, Natera and Novartis are national series sponsors for the MORE THAN PINK Walk, Race for the Cure and Walk Where You Are series. For the 3-Day, Bank of America is the national presenting sponsor and Mohawk, Ready and XPO are the national series sponsors.
The commitment of these partners, along with dedicated supporters, drives Komen’s mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
