  • Global industry leaders A.P. Moller - Maersk and SLB deploy ZEDEDA's platform for mission-critical operations in maritime and energy environments.
  • Middle East expansion, backed by strategic investors and industry research, reveals the evolution of edge AI from experimental to essential infrastructure.

ZEDEDA, the leader in edge orchestration, today announced significant growth and expansion in the first half of 2025, driven by the accelerating global adoption of edge computing. The company expanded its executive leadership team, secured major enterprise deployments, opened a new Middle East headquarters backed by strategic investors, and published industry-leading research demonstrating edge AI's rapid evolution from experimental to mission-critical infrastructure.

“What we're seeing across our customer base reflects a fundamental shift in how enterprises approach edge computing,” said Said Ouissal, ZEDEDA’s CEO and founder. “From securing our largest maritime deployment with Maersk to expanding into the fast-growing Middle East market with world-class investor backing, we're demonstrating that edge computing has moved from experimental to mission-critical for global enterprises."

Executive Leadership Expansion Signals Commercial Acceleration

ZEDEDA strengthened its executive leadership team with key C-suite appointments designed to capitalize on surging enterprise demand for edge AI solutions:

Kevin McGee joins as Chief Revenue Officer and will be responsible for all revenue operations, bringing experience from roles at Confluent, AWS, Okta and Oracle.

“I'm excited to join ZEDEDA at such a pivotal moment in the edge computing market,” said McGee. “The company's technology leadership, combined with the caliber of enterprise-level customers and the global expansion into high-growth markets, creates an incredible opportunity to help organizations unlock the full potential of edge computing. I look forward to working with our team to accelerate this momentum.”

John Jendricks joins as SVP and Chief Operations Officer, bringing operational expertise from leadership roles at Aviatrix, VMware and Cisco.

“ZEDEDA has built the foundation for the future of edge computing with a platform that brings cloud-native capabilities to distributed environments,” Jendricks said. “I’m excited to help scale the business operations and go-to-market engine as we capitalize on the massive opportunity ahead of us.”

Padraig Stapleton was promoted to SVP and Chief Product Officer to drive strategic product direction and customer engagement.

“The convergence of AI and edge computing is creating unprecedented opportunities for businesses to process data closer to where it’s generated,” said Stapleton. “Our focus is on making edge AI deployment as simple and secure as possible, enabling customers to realize value from their edge infrastructure investments quickly.”

In addition to McGee, Jendricks and Stapleton, ZEDEDA also expanded leadership at the VP level:

  • Sachidanandan Sambandan joins as VP of Engineering to support continued technical innovation.
  • Sachin Vasudeva was promoted to VP of Product Management to drive growth initiatives and product expansion.
  • Carla Supanich joins as VP of Human Resources to support global team expansion.

The executive appointments position ZEDEDA to accelerate its go-to-market strategy and product innovation as the company scales to meet growing global demand.

Major Enterprise Wins Demonstrate Scale and Capability

ZEDEDA’s enterprise momentum is exemplified by major deployments with two global industry leaders, A.P. Moller - Maersk and SLB, demonstrating the platform's ability to deliver mission-critical edge computing infrastructure across the world's most demanding operational environments.

A.P. Moller - Maersk selected ZEDEDA as a key technology provider for its next-generation IoT connectivity platform across its 450-vessel fleet. ZEDEDA’s platform enables Maersk to address the inherent challenges of maritime environments, such as managing applications in remote locations with intermittent connectivity and few onboard skilled IT personnel, and showcases ZEDEDA's capability to deliver critical edge computing infrastructure for mission-critical operations in the world's most demanding environments.

ZEDEDA also announced a strategic collaboration with SLB, a global leader in energy technology, to integrate ZEDEDA’s solution into SLB’s Agora™ edge AI and IoT solutions. This partnership empowers SLB customers to bring computing power closer to where data is generated, unlocking immediate insights across drilling operations, wireline and mobile data analysis while optimizing operations, enhancing safety and accelerating decision-making in remote environments.

Strategic Global Expansion Backed by Leading Investors

Building on its established presence in the United States, Germany and India, ZEDEDA opened its fourth global strategic hub with a new Middle East headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The expansion was supported by strategic investments from Alpha Wave Incubation and Prosperity7, Aramco Ventures' diversified growth fund, validating ZEDEDA's technology platform and positioning the company for accelerated growth in the fastest-growing edge computing market.

According to IDC’s Worldwide Edge Spending Guide, the Middle East & Africa region is poised for a 15.3% compound annual growth rate in edge computing over the next five years, making it a critical strategic market for ZEDEDA's global expansion.

Industry Thought Leadership Reveals Massive Enterprise Investment Surge

The momentum ZEDEDA is experiencing reflects broader market trends showing edge AI moving from experimental to mainstream adoption. ZEDEDA established itself as the definitive voice on edge AI adoption trends with the publication of its inaugural Edge AI Survey. The research revealed that 97% of CIOs have edge AI either deployed or on their roadmaps. Key trends in the survey included:

  • Security as Dual Driver: 53% of organizations cite improving security as their primary edge AI motivation, while 42% cite security risks as the top implementation challenge
  • Multimodal AI Growth: Organizations are increasingly deploying sophisticated AI models that combine speech, text and vision processing at the edge
  • Hybrid Cloud Strategy: Enterprises are adopting edge AI to complement rather than replace cloud AI strategies, creating distributed intelligence architectures
