Wealthspire Advisors Launches Mission-Driven Philanthropy Initiative

ASPIRE by Wealthspire is a national, community-focused platform built on education, advocacy, partnership, and sponsorship

Wealthspire Advisors LLC (“Wealthspire Advisors”), an NFP company and top-ranked1 independent registered investment adviser, recently announced the launch of ASPIRE by Wealthspire Advisors, its national, community-centered platform designed to galvanize the firm’s charitable giving efforts. ASPIRE aims to make a meaningful impact by raising awareness and funds for charitable causes and industry-focused giving initiatives.

ASPIRE by Wealthspire is built on four key pillars:

  • Education. While the firm’s mission is to guide people to make smart financial decisions with confidence and empower them to make their best lives, our commitment also extends to shedding light on significant causes that impact our community, industry, and world.
  • Advocacy. The firm believes that through unity, everyone wins. Wealthspire's people serve as advocates and champions for those in need and care passionately about positively impacting our clients, our people, our local communities and the world.
  • Partnership. Wealthspire collaborates with organizations that are focused on increasing financial literacy in students and adults and partners with organizations that address the many key issues facing our communities.
  • Sponsorship. The firm believes in giving with intention and empowering both local community foundations and national charitable organizations to further the causes that are improving the world.

"Philanthropy has always been a foundational part of Wealthspire Advisors' identity and culture, reflecting our commitment to supporting our communities locally, regionally, and nationally," said Mike LaMena, CEO of Wealthspire Advisors. "ASPIRE by Wealthspire provides us with the framework to amplify our efforts, enabling us to create meaningful community impact in alignment with our firm's core values."

Philanthropic Highlights

In the past 12 months, Wealthspire has contributed to over 40 local and national charities throughout the country, raising nearly $500,000.3 This includes ongoing partnerships and focused firmwide giving campaigns such as:

  • Advisers Give Back (AGB) – To date, Wealthspire has raised over $25,000 and more than two dozen advisors have committed to volunteering to meet with clients. AGB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that connects low- and moderate-income households with a financial planner.
  • Feeding America – As part of a firmwide, internal giving campaign in December, Wealthspire raised nearly $50,000. Feeding America is a nonprofit network of 200 food banks leading the fight against hunger in the United States.
  • Net Positive Consortium – Wealthspire serves as a founding partner of the organization which unites wealth management firms that are committed to creating lasting change for their clients, employees, communities, and the planet.
  • Wealthspire Advisors CFP® Certification Diversity Scholarship – This scholarship aims to advance the financial planning profession by providing financial assistance to aspiring CFP® professionals who are from populations underrepresented in the industry. The firm’s commitment through 2026 will award $100,000 in financial aid to 20 recipients.

Greg Friedman Named the Recipient of the Inaugural John Wolff Award

As part of the ASPIRE platform, Wealthspire will annually recognize one employee’s outstanding efforts in giving back to their community. The inaugural John Wolff Award, named posthumously for a highly regarded Wealthspire colleague and philanthropist who lived a life with purpose, will provide the honoree with the opportunity to select a charity of their choice as the recipient of a one-time donation. At the firm’s recent Advisor Summit, Greg Friedman was named the first recipient of the John Wolf Award for his continued philanthropic work in helping to preserve the world’s oceans and its wildlife. He serves on the Board for The Marine Mammal Center and is an outspoken champion for organizations focused on protecting and preserving the world’s natural resources. Greg has also served as an advocate for innovation in the RIA industry, and in 2023, he was named by the Financial Planning Association (FPA) as a recipient of the Heart of Financial Planning Award.

Moving forward, Wealthspire will also publish an annual giving report of the firm’s overall efforts. To learn more about the ASPIRE program, visit wealthspire.com/about/aspire-by-wealthspire-advisors.
