King’s Ransom Foundation and Armour Excavating Continue Their Mission to Rebuild Kerr County
Armour Excavating LLC in partnership with King’s Ransom Foundation continues its work to rebuild Kerr County. The Armour Flood Fund has completed two more demolition projects.
“Due to 6 feet of flooding from the Guadalupe River in Kerrville we had to demolish our house. Nathan Flowers from Armour Excavating was recommended. He was 100% amazing! He is responsive and caring. He worked with us and found a way to make it within our budget. They moved quickly and got it done and left a clear and clean site. He truly is the best kind of human you want to deal with under these circumstances. The very highest praise to him and Armour Excavating from myself and my husband. We're fortunate to be able to move forward now that this difficult phase was completed,” said homeowner Hilda Walter.
“I am grateful for Armour Excavation working in conjunction with the Kings Ransom Foundation for helping me with the demolition of my gutted mobile home which had been badly damaged by the flood on the 4th of July. Were it not Armour and Kings Ransom teaming up to help Flood victims like me I would not be able to move on with my life as soon and begin the rebuilding process. Nathan Flowers and all the whole staff and crew at Armour work, fast, safe and efficiently. I highly recommend Armour Excavation!” said homeowner Steve Ellington.
“It is urgent that we fund these demolition projects immediately. If homeowners and business owners can place their demolition debris in the 'right-of-way' (next to the road), then Ceres and Ashbritt are paid by FEMA to collect and depose of that debris. But these companies will only be here for a few more weeks. Once these companies leave Kerr County, it will be the responsibility of the homeowner to pay for this haul off to the landfill. As an example of the cost, 200 tons of debris would cost a homeowner $30,000. We have 12 projects costing $500,000 that need demolished now and there is no support for these homeowners, no insurance and no FEMA dollars. We are hoping that local non-profit organizations, individuals, or the state will step up to help fund these projects,” said Stephen Day of Armour.
