Kaplan’s All Access License® Named as a Winner in Tech & Learning’s 2025 Awards of Excellence for Back to School

Tech & Learning has named Kaplan’s All Access License as a winner of its 2025 Awards of Excellence: Back to School, which recognizes outstanding education products that support effective teaching and learning as teachers and students head back to school.

By investing in Kaplan’s All Access License, colleges and universities can provide all of their students with access to Kaplan’s industry-leading test prep for admissions exams, licensure, credentialing programs, and workforce readiness programs with zero out of pocket costs for students, helping them to reach their ultimate career goals. Exams that students can prepare for with Kaplan free-of-cost include the GRE®, GMAT®, LSAT®, MCAT®, NCLEX-RN®, USMLE®, Uniform Bar Exam® and Certified Financial Planner®, among many others. Since Kaplan’s All Access License was launched in 2022, tens of thousands of students have collectively saved more than $47 million in out-of-pocket costs for these programs.

In selecting Kaplan’s All Access License, the industry experts who served as judges said, “Kaplan's All Access License represents a breakthrough innovation in higher education support services by creating an entirely new pricing model. This allows a greater number of universities to provide their students with school-wide access to free, industry-leading test prep for graduate admissions exams, licensure, credentials and workforce readiness programs—all for one flat fee.”

Kim Canning, vice president of university partnerships, Kaplan, said:

“Kaplan’s All Access License is unlocking students’ potential and strengthening the talent pipeline in essential professions, improving employability for graduates, and boosting economic mobility—all while saving students millions of dollars collectively. Since launching in 2022, we’ve been inspired by the enthusiasm from students, college and university administrators, elected officials, and local businesses who recognize the power of this initiative to expand access to opportunity and build the workforce of tomorrow. We look forward to deepening these partnerships, forging new ones, and helping even more students achieve their goals.”

Among the many institutional partners of Kaplan’s All Access License are: Cleveland State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Howard University, and Spelman College. At the statewide level, in February, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, contracted Kaplan to provide free test preparation courses to all students enrolled in Illinois’ 12 public universities; five Illinois community colleges are also included as part of a pilot program. The State University of New York recently began collaborating with Kaplan to provide 1,500 students in its SUNY Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) with free test prep. And the Higher Education Opportunity Program Professional Organization also rolled out its investment for many of its students.

Among the many industry recognitions Kaplan’s All Access License has earned since it launched, most recently it was selected as the winner of the “Test Prep Innovation of the Year” award in the 7th annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards program. Kaplan was also the category winner in 2023 and 2024. And in 2024, Fast Company named Kaplan’s All Access License as a winner in its 2024 World Changing Ideas Awards, in the Large Business: 1,000+ Employees category.
