The Broker Action Coalition Announces Leadership Transition
The Broker Action Coalition (BAC), a nonprofit organization representing independent mortgage brokers in national policy, is pleased to announce a strategic leadership transition, effective immediately, that will position the organization for continued growth and impact.
Rachel Clark, who previously served as Director of Advocacy, will step into the position of Executive Director. Since the BAC’s founding, Rachel has played a pivotal role in the organization, beginning as a Texas State Captain and Co-Chair of the State Government Affairs Advocacy Council. As Director of Advocacy, she took on an operations leadership position, where she successfully drove key initiatives behind the scenes.
Katie Sweeney, who served as Chief Executive Officer since the organization’s inception, will transition to the role of Board Advisor. In this new capacity, she will continue to provide strategic guidance and support to ensure the organization's mission and advocacy efforts remain on course.
“The last two and a half years working to launch, then lead, the Broker Action Coalition and the BACPAC have been nothing short of incredible. I’m grateful to Brendan, the BAC team, our unwavering advocates, and gracious donors who made it all possible,” Sweeney said. “Together, we have created a foundation that I’m eager to continue building upon as a Board Advisor, bridging the gap between industry perception, political landscapes, and the tenacious broker community.”
Additionally, Brendan McKay will continue in his role as Chief Advocacy Officer, maintaining a steadfast focus on advancing the organization's advocacy priorities and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
"Our leadership remains dedicated to the mission and values that have driven our success," said McKay. "We are grateful for Katie's visionary leadership and look forward to the next chapter under the leadership of Rachel and our Board of Directors.”
McKay continued, “Our fight in Washington is not yet done. In 2025, we remain committed to leading the charge to pass trigger lead legislation, advocating for the broker channel and American homebuyers, and gearing up for our annual fly-in event, Advocacy in Action, from April 8-10 in Washington, D.C.”
