Dragos Strengthens Executive Team to Drive Next Phase of Business Growth, Building on Record of Innovation and Market Leadership
CFO, CMO, Chief Strategy Officer appointments bring public company expertise and capacity to scale go-to-market strategy to meet accelerating demand for OT and CPS cybersecurity
Dragos Inc., the global leader in cybersecurity for operational technology (OT) environments, today announced it has appointed Mark Matheos as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mark Packham as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and Darren Sankbeil, who previously served as Dragos CFO, as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The executive appointments will be key in driving Dragos to the next stage of growth at a time of accelerating demand for cybersecurity to protect OT and Cyber Physical Systems (CPS).
"These appointments not only strengthen our leadership capacity in critical areas but also reinforce our commitment to our customers as we drive company growth," said Robert M. Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of Dragos Inc. "Our customers are at the heart of our mission and our growth strategy is focused on expanding our ability to serve them as cyber threats to OT continue to accelerate. Mark Matheos, Mark Packham, and Darren Sankbeil bring invaluable leadership and industry experience to their roles, but what truly inspires me is their passion for our mission. Together, we will continue to provide our customers with industry leadership and the most effective OT cybersecurity technology as we reach the next milestones on our company roadmap."
Matheos brings an impressive track record of finance and accounting leadership as a public company CFO and will drive organizational-wide efforts to prepare the company for its next chapter. He joins Dragos from Appian, where he oversaw the growth of the company from 500 employees to over 2,000, and helped drive the company successfully through the IPO process.
"Dragos is in an exciting, fast-growing market, has an undeniably strong company culture, and most importantly, a mission so clearly important that I am honored to be a part of it," said Matheos. "Building out a company’s financial strategy for the growth and scale needed to reach its next phase is my wheelhouse, and I am excited for what's to come."
Packham joins Dragos as CMO, bringing over 25 years of experience in marketing, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Most recently, as Executive Vice President of Marketing at DigiCert, Packham led the global marketing organization through a period of significant growth and established the DigiCert brand as the leader in Digital Trust.
"Dragos is an influential leader in cybersecurity, driven by a mission that inspires us every day," said Packham. "I look forward to leading the growth of our brand and our influence across global markets and diverse industrial sectors. Our focus on innovation and meaningful customer and partner engagement will be key as we continue to set the standard for industrial and critical infrastructure cybersecurity."
In the new role of CSO, Sankbeil will work to consistently define strategy across Dragos, develop new market opportunities, drive future acquisition efforts, and directly support key relationships. Sankbeil's new appointment follows an immensely impressive record of success as the company's CFO, and prior to that, Dragos's Vice President of Finance and Strategy.
In these roles, Sankbeil helped lead the company through multiple rounds of investments including a record-setting $110 million in Series C - the most substantial investment at the time for a company in the ICS/OT cybersecurity sector; a $200 million Series D followed by a $74 million Series D extension; international expansion into Europe, APAC, and the Middle East; the acquisition of Network Perception, makers of NP-View, an award-winning network visualization platform for OT networks; and the formation of Dragos Public Sector LLC, a dedicated subsidiary, delivering OT cybersecurity solutions to address the unique needs of government including US federal agencies.
"I'm excited to step into this new role and have the opportunity to help shape the company's future by bringing Dragos's industry-leading solutions to strategic new markets and organizations around the globe," said Sankbeil. "We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us and I'm looking forward to creating new ways to bring value to our customers and protect their most critical assets."
