Ooma AirDial Now Available Through UScellular Business as a Turnkey Solution to Aging Analog Phone Lines

Ooma, Inc., a smart communications platform for businesses and consumers, today announced that Ooma AirDial® is now available through UScellular Business as a turnkey solution for its customers seeking an alternative to aging and costly analog phone lines.

Analog copper-wire infrastructure, also known as plain old telephone service (POTS), is rapidly reaching obsolescence. This “copper sunset” creates a significant challenge for maintaining safety devices and business-critical systems that require a POTS line – ranging from fire alarm panels to elevator phones, fax machines, public safety phones, building access systems and more – that often can’t be easily migrated to voice over internet protocol (VoIP) service. Meanwhile, the monthly cost of business POTS lines is escalating sharply and reliability is declining.

Ooma AirDial (https://www.ooma.com/airdial) provides turnkey replacement for POTS lines by combining the Ooma AirDial base station with virtual analog phone service and a data connection through a wireless network. AirDial deployments can be remotely managed through an online portal with automated alerts, reducing expensive “truck rolls” and lowering incident response time.

UScellular supports organizations of all types and sizes, including small- and medium-sized businesses, enterprises and the public sector. Its multiple sales teams will now be able to sell Ooma AirDial, with contracts and billing from UScellular, accompanied by installation and support by Ooma. This enables UScellular to deliver even greater value to its customers across all industries.

“Our customers tell us they want a POTS replacement solution that is easy to deploy and manage, saves them money, and provides a single bill from a single provider,” said Kim Kerr, senior vice president for enterprise sales and operations at UScellular. “Ooma AirDial checks all these boxes and comes from a company with 20 years of experience in a wide range of telecommunications services.”

“We are excited to have a powerful partner such as UScellular recognize the value of Ooma AirDial,” said Chris Burgy, vice president of corporate development at Ooma. “UScellular business customers now have a simple, flexible solution for POTS replacement that will reduce their operating costs from day one.”
