New Connection Delivers Cost-Effective Premium Performance

Hunting Energy Services, a subsidiary of Hunting PLC, the international energy services company, today announced the introduction of its WEDGE-LOCK^® HT semi-flush connection technology. The new connection features a wedge-style thread form with performance that targets HPHT environments for both onshore and offshore applications.

WEDGE-LOCK HT (WLHT), with tension and compression efficiencies greater than 90%, provides maximum performance under tension, compression, bending and torsional loads. The connection was combined load tested in accordance with API RP 5C5:2017. It also meets API TR 5SF protocols for testing connection performance in multi-fractured horizontal wells.

Currently available in 4.500- to 7.625-in. sizes, WLHT has a semi-flush OD and pin nose metal-to-metal radial seal. It also features an optimum run-out thread design for maximum axial efficiencies. The connection has quick and reliable make up and an extremely high torque capability.
