The answers to these questions were gleaned from numerous media articles, case studies, and research papers. They are also the subject of his new book, titled Ethical Decision Quality. As people make their next decision, consider the strengths or weaknesses of each element. Use the elements of ethical decision quality as a checklist. Strengthen the weak elements, have an open conversation about them, and people will make a better decision.

He explains the acronym for the elements of ethical decision quality and observes that it sends a global message. Referring back to Dr. Benjamin Franklin's quote about the Constitution,

I doubt whether any other convention we can obtain may be able to make a better Constitution . . . for when you assemble a number of men to have the advantage of their joint wisdom, you inevitably assemble with those men all their prejudices, their passions, their errors of opinion, their local interests, and their selfish views. From such an assembly can a perfect production be expected?

Imagine if there were a method to overcome this. Imagine a situation where people were instead working together for success. One possibility is to recognize the elements that impede the ethical quality of decisions in an assembly and speak openly about them. This was the initial motivation for the acronym and the elements fit precisely for a message to help with this call.
