International Trade Council & the Global Economic Business Council Launches Landmark Publications at Star-Studded London Gala
London, UK - Last night at the esteemed Reform Club on Pall Mall, the International Trade Council and hosted an exclusive dinner launch of two seminal reports—Bridging Borders: Trade Promotion and Foreign Direct Investment and Global Economic Opportunities 2025—in the presence of over 120 dignitaries. The event was chaired by Dr. Khalifa Saif Juma Saif Al Mehairbi, Chairman & Patron of the Global Economic Business Council, and featured keynote addresses by H.E. Sven Jurgenson, former President of the United Nations Security Council and former UNICEF Board Chairman, and The Rt Hon. The Baroness Prashar CBE.
Mark Glover, Chairman of SEC Newgate UK and Board Member of the International Trade Council, served as Master of Ceremonies, guiding an evening attended by Members of Parliament, ambassadors, heads of national FDI and export-promotion agencies, chamber of commerce executives, and senior private equity and venture-capital investors—the global elite of foreign direct investment and trade promotion. The gala provided a platform to underscore the vital role of open markets and multilateral cooperation as a bulwark against rising protectionism.
During the ceremony, Dr. Al Mehairbi was honored with two distinguished awards: Champion of International Trade and Global Best Real Estate Person of the Year, presented by H.E. Sven Jurgenson. He then unveiled the International Trade Council’s latest research:
- Bridging Borders – a practitioner’s guide to designing and operating effective export- and investment-promotion agencies; and
- Global Economic Opportunities 2025 – a comprehensive directory of over USD 6 billion in curated FDI projects across 63 countries, assembled to catalyze cross-border collaboration and sustainable growth.
The evening concluded with closing remarks by The Hon. David Wells, Canadian Senator and Chairman of the International Centre for Trade Transparency, who reflected on the shared commitment to fostering inclusive prosperity through investment and trade.
