Leveraging digital design tools and 3D visualizations to create specialized and technology-enabled solutions from our office in South Korea
SOURCE: Tetra Tech
DESCRIPTION:
Tetra Tech is supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineering Far East District (USACE FED) with architect-engineer services for facility and infrastructure improvements at installations throughout South Korea to help strengthen mission readiness, improve quality of life for our military personnel and their families, and consolidate the U.S. military footprint.
Tetra Tech expanded its global presence into South Korea and established lasting partnerships with both USACE FED and high-caliber local engineering firms. Our team of U.S.-based architects and engineers work seamlessly with our growing team in our Seoul office to deliver innovative, Tetra Tech Delta technology-enabled solutions to our clients.
“Our Seoul-based team carries deep institutional knowledge, adapts our designs to local Garrison standards, and integrates Korean construction means and methods,” said Alison Lima, Tetra Tech program manager for USACE FED projects. “Yet, what differentiates us is how our network of experts around the world complement and backstop our local team whenever needed.”
This balance allows us to provide high-quality designs, maintain a cost-effective approach, and provide rapid and responsive support to USACE FED. Our current activities include:
- Designs for airfield pavement, lighting, and drainage at U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Humphreys
- Design for a new LEED Silver Army Lodging Facility at Camp Walker
- Designs for command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence facilities and related infrastructure at USAG Humphreys
- Design of a dining facility at Kunsan Air Base
By using digital design tools from our Tetra Tech Delta suite, we incorporate client and end-user feedback into designs with strict adherence to rigorous quality standards. Tetra Tech’s virtual reality specialists create 3D engineering simulations to facilitate stakeholder understanding and expedite project delivery by using immersive digital engagement, allowing virtual walkthroughs during the design phase. Our project managers work closely with our clients to certify that the facilities are of high quality and advance U.S. military mission objectives.
“Our 3D visualizations simplify communications and truly bring our designs to life,” said Brandon Park, managing director of Tetra Tech in South Korea. ”Our goal is to utilize cutting-edge technologies to enable any government civilian or military personnel—especially those who do not have an engineering background—to understand fully our design and what they are receiving after construction.”
