The Innovative Micro-Budget Chiller "The Collingswood Story" Available Now on Blu-Ray and Prime Video.

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 20, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The innovative indie horror film "The Collingswood Story" released in 2002, is available now streaming on Prime Video and for the first time on Blu-Ray disk.

Years before Zoom and FaceTime, visionary Sundance writer/director Mike Costanza cleverly comprised his micro-budget chiller, "The Collingswood Story", of video chats. Costanza's cutting edge concept helped pave the way for future hits such as "Host", "Paranormal Activity", and "Unfriended".

"The Collingswood Story" stars Stephanie Dees (HALLOWEEN IV), Johnny Burton, Grant Edmonds, Glenn Hoeffner, and Diane Behrens (GAS FOOD LODGING, MONEYBALL). "Collingswood" screened at film festivals including Frightfest in London, The Fearless Tales Film Festival in San Francisco, and won the Best Cast and Best Indie Film awards.

About the Filmmaker

After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Mike Costanza moved to Los Angeles and began working on feature films at Paramount. He then went on to direct music videos for Capitol Records and had two short films that he directed screened at The Sundance Film Festival. Mike's award winning short "Mama Said" was chosen for the prestigious Official Selection of Films in Competition at Cannes where it was nominated for the Palme d'Or award. Mike's other credits include creator of the LGBTQ series "Dante's Cove" and most recently cutting-edge VR experiences including "Skatelife: A Multi-Media Exhibit in 3D".

About "The Collingswood Story"

College-aged couple Rebecca Miles and John Dalmass attempt to keep their long distance relationship alive via video chatting. However a chance encounter with an online psychic plunges their lives into a world of nightmarish supernatural phenomenon.

Upon its initial release "The Collingswood Story" became an "indie thrill sensation" with quotes that included "A Low Budget Triumph", "Inventive and Frightening", and "The Best Low Budget Horror Movie Since The Blair Witch Project". Empire Magazine, Dreamwatch, SFX and journalist Kim Newman also praised the film.

"I completed TCS in 2002," Mike says, "when video chatting was in its infancy. I was captivated by this new way of communicating and inspired me to structure an entire film based on each character's online video interactions. For the 2021 release I re-mastered the original footage and color graded in DaVinci Resolve. I also recorded a commentary for the disk explaining how the film was made on a micro-budget reminding indie filmmakers to always have perseverance. I was ecstatic when the folks at Diabolik DVD contacted me expressing their enthusiasm for a Blu-Ray release. And now with THE COLLINGSWOOD STORY on Prime Video I am equally ecstatic and honored to have the film available on Amazon's outstanding streaming platform."

Furthermore regarding the COLLINGSWOOD re-release Costanza says "Fans of the film will definitely appreciate the newly re-mastered version. And I'm excited for a new audience to check out TCS and catch a glimpse of online life before high-speed wireless and FaceTime!"
