Item 8.01 Other Events.

The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. issued a press release on September 16, 2005 announcing that it currently expects to complete its pending merger transaction with the investment group consisting of Texas Pacific Group and Warburg Pincus LLC (the "Investment Group") in October 2005.
