Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On October 19, 2018, Peter G. Edwards, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, of Celanese Corporation (the “Company”), notified the Company of his intent to retire as an officer of the Company, effective as of December 31, 2018. He will continue as an employee until January 31, 2019 to assure a smooth transition.
