Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment
of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On November 26, 2018, the Board of Directors of Principal Financial Group, Inc. appointed Renee Schaaf, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Principal International, to the position of president of Retirement and Income Solutions (“RIS”), effective March 1, 2019. Nora Everett, the current president of RIS, announced her intention to retire no later than the end of the first quarter of 2019. A press release on this topic is included with this report as Exhibit 99.
