Item 1.04 Mine Safety Reporting of Shutdowns and Patterns of Violations.
On January 13, 2014, ICG Tygart Valley, LLC, a subsidiary of Arch Coal, Inc., received an imminent danger order under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 at the Leer mine in Taylor County, West Virginia for excessive measurable limits of methane air mixtures. Employees were immediately withdrawn from the area and the problem was corrected.
