Campbell's(R) Chunky(TM) Soup and NFL Moms Team Up to Tackle Hunger Nationwide

The notion of tackling is nothing new to a football mom, but the moms of 35 NFL players are giving tackling a whole new meaning this football season. The Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA) is teaming up with the Campbells Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger® program and Feeding America, (formerly known as Americas Second Harvest) the nations largest domestic hunger-relief organization, to tackle a big issue -- the nations hunger.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, hunger affects more than 38 million Americans. To help fight this national problem, 35 moms from the PFPMA are taking part in the NFL Moms Tackling Hunger with Chunky Soup program, a friendly competition among moms of NFL players, where theyll strive to raise as many food donations as possible for their local communities.

Beginning in September, which is also Hunger Action Month, each mom will receive 500 cans of Campbells Chunky soup to kick start their campaigns. The moms will work together with local Feeding America food banks in their hometowns to encourage other members of the community to help tackle hunger. At the end of the season, the three moms who generate the most donations for their local food banks will receive a trip to Tampa during the week of Super Bowl XLIII, where theyll help to announce a soup-er donationone million cans of Campbells®soups to Feeding America food banks nationwide!

The group of moms will be led by one of the most recognizable Team Moms in all sports, Wilma McNabb, mother of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb. McNabb came to fame by playing herself in the Campbells Chunky soup Mamas Boys advertising campaign and now, as President of the PFPMA, will share her spirit and encouragement with the other moms as they help with the Chunky soup mission of tackling hunger nationwide.

One of the guiding principals of the PFPMA is to help the less fortunate in our communities and we are honored to partner with organizations like the Campbell Soup Company and Feeding America, who share the same core values, said McNabb, President of the PFPMA. No one should ever go hungry, and with the help of our hometown friends, were ensuring that people in need in our communities will receive nourishing soups, like Beef with Country Vegetables which is packed with lean meat protein.

Vicki Escarra, President and CEO of Feeding America said, We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the Campbell Soup Company, the NFL and the PFPMA. We would not be able to continue our effort in feeding more than 25 million hungry people each year, including nearly 9 million children and 3 million seniors, without this type of support.

Campbells Chunky soup and the NFL have been raising awareness about hunger in America since 1997 through its ongoing national campaign, the Campbells Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger® program. Now in its 11th year sponsoring the NFL, Campbells Chunky soup continues to remain committed to tackling hunger in America by driving all donations to local Feeding America network members across the country.

Following is a list of the 35 participating PFPMA moms who will take part in the NFL Moms Tackling Hunger with Chunky Soup program and their corresponding Feeding America food bank.
