Starlite Kitchens Acquired by KSI

Calder Capital, LLC, is thrilled to announce that Starlite Kitchens and Baths, Inc., of Byron Center, Michigan has been acquired by KSI Kitchens of Brighton, Michigan.

Founded in 1971, KSI Kitchens is now family-owned and operated by Brian and Lauren Tolles. KSI proudly operates eight locations throughout East Michigan and Ohio, with Starlite now their ninth design center. The acquisition was a strategic one for KSI, as adding Starlite will allow KSI to serve the West Michigan community in designing and remodeling the kitchens or baths of their dreams.

Roger and Sandi Bronsink became the sole owners of Starlite Kitchens in 2018. The Company was founded in 2000 by Sandi's father and brothers, and Roger and Sandi took over the business as the original owners began to retire and transition out of the Business. For over 20 years serving West Michigan residents, the Starlite team has prided itself on being foremost Servants at Heart. 

"Sandi and I would have never been able to do on our own what we did working with the Calder team," said Rog Bronsink. "We would have never been able to access the caliber of the many potential buyers that Calder was able to provide for us. While the number is always important in the sale of a business, we wanted to make sure that the new owners would be proper stewards for our business and our team. Scott and the rest of the Calder team knew how important that was for us and showed the heart of servants in finding the right fit."

Scott Nicholson, Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor at Calder Capital, served as the lead advisor on the transaction. He worked closely with Roger and Sandi to find the right buyer who would continue the vision that Sandi's family built.

"This transaction was as smooth as a transaction could possibly be," remarked Nicholson. "This was the record fastest closing we've ever had at Calder. Rog and Sandi were reluctant to sell to any larger strategic buyer, but I had a good gut feeling about Brian Tolles and KSI. I took a risk and asked Rog & Sandi to consider speaking to Bryan and his team. They ended up finding that their mission statements are really aligned." 

Starlite Kitchens launched to market on January 12, 2021, and closed on March 16 - a record-breaking 63 days for a Calder Capital transaction.
