*ATLANTA—Grammy winning artist Le’Andria Johnson has finally settled her long divorce battle with now ex-husband, Michael Underwood.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville signed the order this week and granted Johnson’s wishes for a divorce.

Attorney James L. Walker, Jr. of the Atlanta-based firm, Walker & Associates represented Ms. Johnson.

“We are pleased with the decision from the court and Le’Andria is ready to move forward with her life,” said Walker (@jameswalkerjresq). “This has been a very challenging time for her and we want to thank her family and millions of fans for their undying support.”

Despite Underwood’s claims on social media that he was concerned about his son, Attorney Walker attempted to arrange a visitation schedule that got rejected by the father.

“It is very disappointing for me as a father of 4, when a man goes on social media for nearly two years and blasts our client, who is a wonderful mother, but, expresses no real interest in seeing his child. It appeared to me that Mr. Underwood was more focused on demanding money and assets from the union then knowing his son….and he didn’t get a dime!” No assets were awarded to Underwood and the court awarded full custody of their son to Ms. Johnson.

“I want to thank Attorney James Walker for helping me close this chapter of my life. I am also thankful for everyone who supported and prayed for me through this entire ordeal. I want to focus on raising my children, spending time with my family and continuing to allow God to use me to make great music,” Johnson (@leandriaj) added, refusing to make any statements about the father of her lovely son.

Le’Andria Delores Johnson is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Palatka, FL she launched her gospel career with her Season 3 win on BET’s singing competition, “Sunday Best.” At the time, she was homeless and a single mother of three. Her coronation song, “I Shall Leap into My Destiny”, co-written by Johnson, debuted on the Billboard gospel chart at #1. Her single, “Jesus” garnered the win at the 54th Annual Grammy Award category of Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance. She is the first “Sunday Best” contestant to receive a Grammy award.

In 2012, she received her first NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Gospel Album (Traditional or Contemporary) for her CD, “Le’Andria Johnson the Experience.” Additionally, Johnson garnered three Stellar Award nominations and two wins in 2013 for Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Female Vocalist.

In 2019, she released the prolific “Deliver Me” song with Stellar Award winning artist Donald Lawrence. The song hit number #1 for weeks and was nominated this week for Song of the Year for the upcoming GMA Dove Awards.
