Dow futures slide lower Tuesday morning after stocks first decline to start a year since 2016

The main U.S. stock benchmarks on Tuesday point lower after equities registered their first losses to open a new year since 2016, on the back of growing concerns about spike in the spread of COVID-19 due to a more transmissible variant of the pathogen that has led to stiffer lockdowns in parts of the world.
