Signet Jewelers Announces Nomination of Jonathan Seiffer as New Director

Signet Jewelers Limited (NYSE: SIG) today announced that its Board of Directors nominated Jonathan Seiffer as a new director for election at the company’s 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. Seiffer is a Senior Partner at Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. and has been an observer to the Signet Board since October 2016.

“We are pleased to recommend Jonathan for election at Signet’s 2019 Annual Meeting, as we continue to align the Board’s composition with the skills necessary to guide the company’s Path to Brilliance transformation,” said H. Todd Stitzer, Chairman of Signet Jewelers. “Jonathan brings a comprehensive retail background and extensive experience working with companies undergoing transformations, as well as investor perspective. Having served as an independent observer to the Board for the past several years, Signet has benefited from his counsel and we believe Jonathan will continue to be a valuable contributor in this increased capacity.”

Leonard Green has been a strategic investor in Signet since 2016, holding approximately 12% of the company’s outstanding common shares on an as-converted basis.

As previously planned under the Board’s tenure policy, Marianne Miller Parrs and Thomas Plaskett will not stand for reelection at the 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. With these changes, the Signet Board size will be reduced to 11.

“We thank Marianne and Tom for their valuable contributions during the past decade,” added Stitzer. "We appreciate their tireless dedication and their contributions to our shareholders and to management.”
