Missouri American Water Awards 28 Fire Fighter Grants to Communities Throughout the State

Missouri American Water has awarded over $33,000 in Fire Fighter Grants to Fire Departments in communities throughout the state. The annual program provides grant opportunities to fire departments within Missouri American Water service territories, and exist to strengthen partnerships with local communities by providing financial assistance to the organizations that provide fire protection and emergency services.

“As funding for local fire departments continues to be a struggle throughout the state, this grant program can assist in providing critical equipment and training needed by fire fighters,” said Missouri American Water President, Cheryl Norton. “As the water providers for these communities, we realize the critical role they play in providing fire protection and emergency first response.”

The program, in existence since 2016, has awarded 87 grants totaling over $100,000.
