Hartalspotter developed by Sequoia Applied Technologies automatically detects for Hartal announcements in public media (including Twitter, facebook & news media) and it gives notification alert to users.
TRIVANDRUM, India - Feb. 14, 2018 - PRLog -- SequoiaAT today announced the launch of its new app called Hartalspotter based on the TopicAnalyZer framework for event sentiments like elections, concerts, funding programs etc. The App is aimed today mostly for users in Kerala state or people visiting Kerala to get informed about the upcoming Hartal's. The app looks for relevant sources of information on Twitter, Facebook & other social media sites and then uses the TopicAnalyZer framework to alert its users. If you have this app installed and you have been cut off from watching daily news, Hartals will not catch you off guard.
"One of the key challenges while designing the app was handling fake news to ensure we give credible alerts to users," says Manoj Nair who is the architect behind the novel concept. The app is very user friendly and does not need any registration to use the app and have kept the interfaces very simple and easy to use. The next version of the app also has a feature where if we missed locating a hartal, system will give the capability to end user to inform us about an upcoming one. The heart of the framework runs on Amazon Cloud(AWS) and the mobile app is just a UI to display this data.
"We are excited that this tool will help thousands of daily and weekly commuters like us because if there is a hartal the app can alert us and we can look for alternative plans for the day to meet our commitments," says Surabhi & Neeraja engineer's behind this app. The framework has been in development in the Technopark campus of SequoiaAT since 2017. The app is going to be available to both Android & iPhone(coming soon) users via the app store.
