C.H. Robinson Makes an Impact in Los Angeles Metro Area

C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Los Angeles offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign which raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

Employees at the Los Angeles Surface Transportation office raised more than $14,000 and volunteered at the Orange County Ronald McDonald House and Friendly Center. They made 200 snack and hygiene bags and cooked breakfast and dinner for the families at the Ronald McDonald House.

Modern Gourmet Foods, along with additional customers, donated almost two full truckloads of food, beverages and products to the campaign’s selected charities. Some of its contract carriers, including MWJ Transport, donated the transportation cost of moving the donated products. “Volunteering, in addition to raising money, for our featured charities was incredibility impactful. Seeing, first-hand, the people who need these products made the entire team want to work even harder,” said Kelsey Balog, project manager at C.H. Robinson. “And we’re so thankful to our valued customers and contract carriers for joining us to help these organizations and our community.”

The Los Angeles North office collected food items, walked dogs, hosted a blood drive and raised money for the following charities: American Red Cross, Priceless Pet Rescue, Inland Valley Hope Partners and Children’s Fund. “Giving back to our community is important to this office — it’s ingrained in our culture and is a crucial facet of our corporate citizenship,” said Chris Wyrick, manager of account management at C.H. Robinson. “I’m very proud of our team and thankful to our neighboring businesses for coming together to support these charities. Together, we’re investing in the lives of our friends and neighbors.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
