'Concussion' is the true story of Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith), a forensic pathologist that discovered Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a condition resulting from recurring head injuries. Dr. Omalu crusaded to raise public awareness about the dangers of football-related head trauma.

A recent study conducted by Boston University demonstrated the prevalence of CTE, finding the condition in 96% of 91 tested subjects, all of whom played football at some organized level.
