Feldman Auto Helps Change Lives of Local Families

In this country, one set of car keys can change someone's life.
NEW HUDSON, Mich. - Oct. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Transportation is the number one barrier to employment for low-income families. In Detroit, with its minimal public transportation system, a car is one of the very few answers to a difficult job search.
That’s why Southeast Michigan’s Feldman Auto has teamed up with Vehicles for Change (VFC) to address the area’s problem one family at a time. Please join us on Monday, October 19th at 12:00 PM EST at the Feldman Chevrolet of Livonia store located at 32570 Plymouth Rd, Livonia, MI 48150 to be a part of an incredibly rewarding event.
VFC is a non-profit organization that has already awarded over 5,000 cars nationally to low-income families, touching the lives of over 20,000 people. A quick look at the numbers shows a remarkable impact:
• 75 percent of VFC Families obtained better jobs and/or increased earnings
• $7,000 average annual earning increase
• 100 percent of VFC families took children to after-school activities
• 98 percent of VFC Families were able to take their children to the doctor
• 55 percent of VFC families volunteered in their communities
Now, Feldman Auto is helping VFC take this success to the greater Detroit area. Supply of vehicles is the biggest obstacle to awarding cars to families in need. Feldman dealers are helping to unlock this problem by making trade-ins available to VFC. A partnership with Belle Tire gives VFC discounted repairs.
Together, this effort has already touched the lives of seven area families. Families like the DILLARD FAMILY.
Feldman Auto is honored to award the 2002 Saturn SL2 to the Dillard Family. Anthony Dillard is a 25-year-old father of 4 children ages 4, 5, 6, and 9 months. Anthony is employed at Future Dye and Cash in Shelby, MI. Day after day Anthony endures the strenuous commute to work, leaving his house at 4:30 am to catch the bus to make it on time. In conjunction with Belle Tire, this Saturn has been repaired to solid working condition. It also comes with a 6 month, 6,000-mile warranty covering all components other than cosmetic.
