Missions On Wheels Steps Up Support in Hurricane Helene's Aftermath
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Oct. 3, 2024 - PRLog -- Montgomery, Texas – Missions On Wheels continues its unwavering support for non-profit partners in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Responding swiftly to the crisis, the organization has deployed crucial resources to aid recovery efforts across affected regions.
In Suwannee County, Florida, Missions On Wheels delivered a vital 16-bed bunk trailer on Sunday, September 29, ensuring essential sleeping accommodations for cleanup and technology crews. Additionally, two shower trailers and one laundry trailer are being deployed to Buncombe County, North Carolina, bolstering support for volunteer search and cleanup teams.
Each trailer's delivery to these areas costs between $3,500 and $4,500. Through generous donations, Missions On Wheels covers these expenses, allowing non-profits to focus their resources on aiding communities in need. This commitment not only saves organizations up to $5,000 per week compared to rental costs but also ensures sustained assistance throughout the recovery phase.
Unlike many relief agencies that withdraw once initial aid is provided, Missions On Wheels remains dedicated to the long-term recovery process. The organization stands firm, supporting trained volunteers in tasks such as route clearance, muck removal, and debris clearing. This ongoing presence is essential for residents as they begin rebuilding their lives.
"Missions On Wheels remains committed to standing with affected communities as long as help is needed," said Mike Costello, Executive Director. "We call on individuals and businesses to join us in this mission through donations and sponsorships, ensuring continuous support for those on the ground."
